#1 Alfarabi (2-1) is a solid single whether you are betting horizontally or vertically.  Trained by Harty Eoin, owned by Abdullah Saeed Amaddah and ridden by Garrett Gomez this $210k purchase has yet to cash in on a stakes event having fallen short in both the G1 Norfolk and G3 Generous stakes.  He has improved, however, in each of his last four races, is proven at the distance (very important factor for 2 year-olds in that many in here are trying to stretch out to the route distance for the first time) and is making his second run off the layoff.  Look for an off-the-pace run in a field filled with front runners.  #4 Via Verde (6-1) is coming back from a layoff but works say he is ready.  Bred for this distance and surface.   Sadler is great at stretch outs on the grass and Jump'n Joel Rosario gets the call.  Look for a big effort here.

#5 Came Aboard (7-1), #2 Cardiff Giant (9-1), #9 Thomas Baines (12-1) and #8 Macias (6-1) all make the grade as bottom of exotics considersation.

The Bet:

$1 Superfecta 1 with 4,5,9 with 2,4,5,8,9 with All ($72)

Thanks, mdracing69. I don't see a big payout here but we can all keep our tickets very narrow at the top to keep the investment down. I am liking #9 Thomas Baines more and more. Not for the win spot but even more solid in the second hole at a great price. Gomez is off in favor of #1 Alfarabi but Tyler Baze picks up the mount for O'Neill. I think he's going to appreciate the firm, low cut turf at Santa Anita as he makes his second start off the layoff. According to BRIS, other than Alfarabi, he's the only horse in the field that ran a a late pace number in the 90's after posting an 80+ pace at the second call. You know he'll improve second out and with so many others stretching out to a route for the first time...many of those will post lively early fractions but have nothing left in the stretch. Nice set up for this closer.

I like your Eddie Logan selections Mike. I am also on Alfarabi as well as Via Verde. Good luck with your super!
