Today’s twelfth race (11/2) at Santa Anita is the Gr. I $5,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Classic.  This race will consist of three year olds and upwards running the classic distance of a mile and a quarter.

#6 – Mucho Macho Man (5-1): Last time out won the Gr. I Awesome Again Stakes here at Santa Anita.  The son of Macho Uno has run this classic distance three times and has never won but I wouldn’t be surprised if that ends today.  Gary Stevens has been on a roll as of late and won the BC Distaff last night so we could see Steven’s double.

#5 – Declaration of War (10-1): One of the Euro’s shipping in here, this horse seems to have the stamina and class to compete here.  The four year old colt by War Front has run all of his races over turf or synthetic with a career record of 12-7-1-1.  Three times this colt has run the classic distance (two over turf, one over synthetic) and he has yet to finish worse than second.  Joseph O’Brien will ride.

#9 - Game On Dude (8-5): Can’t overlook this one here, the famous gelding known as G.O.D has won all five starts this year and is seven for eight in his career at Santa Anita.  Mike Smith will likely have the Bob Baffert trainee right up on the lead as usual so we will see if he has the stamina today.

#10 – Will Take Charge (12-1): His last three races can’t be taken lightly.  The chestnut son of Unbridled’s Song finished a close second in the Gr. II Jim Dandy and then followed that up with two wins, both being Grade one’s.  It seems Luis Saez and this colt gets along well so I expect a solid effort from the duo.

Plays:

$8 to win, $20 to show on 6

$2 Exacta 6 – 5/9/10

$3 Exacta 5/9/10 – 6

$.50 Trifecta 6/5/9 – 6/5/9/10 – 6/5/9/10/12/8

Total: $61
Nicely done jwc
