Saturday's 8th race (4:42pm PT) from Santa Anita Park is the Grade I Santa Anita Sprint Championship for 3-year-olds and up dashing six furlongs on the main track.

#6 Jimmy Creed (6-1) is a talented, versatile, lightly raced 3yo sprinter. He gave G2 Indiana Derby favorite Fed Biz a scare at a flat mile last time and Mandella's $900k purchase is firing local bullets for this.

#2 Amazombie (9-5) has captured his last three six furlong starts in the G1 Bing Crosby on July 29, and last year's G1 BC Sprint and G1 Ancient Title. The fresh tactical threat is following the same path as last year and could easily get the job done at low odds.

#3 Coil (4-1) is 2-for-2 at six panels and won the G1 Haskell on dirt last season. He dons the hood and today's pilot Martin Garcia booted him home twice in 2011.

The Plays:

$12 to win #6

$6 Exacta Box 2-6 ($12)

$3 Exacta Box 3-6 ($6)

Jimmy Creed looks talented and moving up nicely, but he is facing G.1 & G.2 older monsters. I do not think Jimmy Creed is special enough to beat Coil, Amazombie or Capital Account. Good for exotics though.

Amongst 2, 3 and 5...Hard to run with them and very very hard to mow them down late on that course.
2 Amazombie 5 Capital Account 3 Coil
