Thursday's 5th race (3:02pm PT) from Santa Anita Park is a Starter Allowance event for 4-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the turf course (rail at 24 feet).

#2 Me Likey Mikey (6-1) failed to fire in lone turf start but he broke slow in that BHP sprint. Decarchy is an 11% turf sire and dam has tossed a grass winner. Puype excels dirt/turf and Leparoux should fit this one like a glove.

#7 Sanibel Sid (5-2) needed his turf sprint return for Ellis. He ran well in two routes on dirt/turf in 2011 and should spring forward 2nd off the shelf.

#10 Baby Blake (3-1) is a money burner with an affinity for the place. Bejarano sticks.

#1 Sarangani (6-1) ran well in lone turf outing and will take them as far as he can from the hedge.

#5 Keyboard Courage (5-1) smartly won his dirt sprint bow at the Gulf and Peter Miller has him now. Gomez hops aboard the surface switcher.
