Calvados can bounce back at Parx

Tuesday's 8th race (3:34pm ET) from Parx is an Optional Claiming event for 4-year-olds and up dashing six and one-half furlongs on the main track.

#8 Calvados (6-1) was ambitiously spotted in the $75k Bensalem Stakes here March 12 and he ended 5th of 6 in the slop that day. The tactical gelding fits off his Jan.12 win here vs. lesser $12.5k claimers and can bounce back 2nd off the shelf. The 5-time local winner retains recently hot jockey Carmouche and should offer value.

Play Tuesday's Parx games at DerbyWars.com

#2 Arrogant Officer (5-2) exits back-to-back course/distance wins and earned strong numbers both times. He is an obvious tactical threat in his current form for a profitable outfit.

#6 Score the Gold (7-2) is usually in the hunt but has been settling for minor awards recently. He has the numbers to compete here but will probably come up a tad short if his recent lack of winning spirit holds.

The Plays:

$12 to win #8

$5 Exacta Box 2-8 ($10)

$2 Trifecta 2-8/2-6-8/2-6-9 ($8)

Thanks, Mike. Enjoying the early week Parx plays.
Nice narrowly focused winning wager, Jarrod!
Thanks, morency.
Indian Jones will be a good choice in a longer race.
Nice score on the win and exacta Jarrod.
LOTs of late action still could not drop it down that low, 7/2 was accetable
Indian Jones
contenders: 8 Calvados 2 Arrogant Officer 6 Score the Gold 7 Indian Jones and if the University of Louisville were entered I might have just bet on them too!
Looking for Goldberg's He Can Run to run a big race here at nice odds.
Contenders: #2, 8, 6, 1. The #1 has a shot and will be coming late but is summarily out classed. The #2 is a legitamate favorite...but I will try to beat him. The #8 definately will be there but is a little short on recency to my top pick #6 Score The Gold (7/2), but has been competing with better horses. I will bet the #6 to win, and take an exacta box 6, 8, 2.
