Monday's 7th race (2:56pm ET) from Parx is an Optional Claiming affair for fillies and mares dashing six furlongs on the main track.

#7 Ms. N. Tarsia (9-2) earned the best last race number in a smart course/distance tally Dec 24. The sharp mare is an outside tactical repeat threat if she duplicates her last.

#5 Roman Renegade (5-2) is a 3-time local winner exiting a place finish at the Big A and the show finisher from her last came back to score. Her last victory occurred at this distance and she projects a decent tactical trip today.

7 has a great shot to get out front, and if all alone would be a wager....1 could bother him for a few strides however

5 is now even money..IF I bet the race I would let him beat me at those odds. 6 7 and 3 all represent overlays

An oft totally MISUNDERSTOOD idea is that the place horse must be the second best winning possibility. In LONG studies, the 2nd best horse runs more often 3rd and 2nd all the time.........Place horses are different animals: pace types that stop or huge late movers that do not get there...depending upon the pace of race. MANY MANY time the place horse is not even on of your win contenders.
