Of those exiting the Derby who ran at least a few steps, Musket Man had the trip. While he saved ground on the first turn, he came wide on the second yet still lost the multi-horse bob for second by very little. His trip compared to Pioneerof the Nile and Papa Clem more than makes up for their price difference today.
If dry, I think General Quarters can run a good race. He's random, but he never looked good at CD and probably prefers it dry. Terrain is also a great horse to play underneath. Let's combine these opinions:
