#10 Alternation(2-1) returns to the Oaklawn scene to defend his win of the Razorback Handicap. He comes into this race off of a 14-week layoff. Viewing his PP's indicate that he is worthy of a repeat, but, I will attempt to unseat him because of his lengthy hiatus.
My pick seems to sway in the direction of #8 Brethren(10-1). Last year, he was among the early leaders for the Kentucky Derby. He did have a bad outing in the Arkansas Derby, which could weaken the strength of my selection, for he did not take to the track on that day. At that time, he was under the care of Todd Pletcher, but has since moved on to Steve Asmussen, who has raced him the last two times against Mark Valeski, and up-and-coming stakes colt.
Others worth consideration are: #2 Atigun(4-1), who ran 3rd in the BC Marathon, #3 Cyber Secret(5-1), two-for-two at this current Oaklawn meet, #4 Donoharm(5-1), winner of five straight, and #9 San Pablo(9-2), trained by Todd Pletcher and winner of 9-for-16 lifetime.
My play will be #8 5-10-20 WPS, and a $3 Exacta Box 2-3-8-10. That's it!!! That's my play!!! And I'm sticking to it!!!!
May the horse be with you.
