Sunday's 10th race (5:23PM ET) from Monmouth Park is the $100,000 Crank It Up Stakes for 3-year-old fillies traveling five and one-half furlongs on the turf.
#8 DATTT ECHO (8-1) is an interesting route to sprint
contender at square odds. The Mark Hennig trainee dons the hood, handles turf,
and seems best around one turn. She was hardly disgraced in a local flat mile
turf Stakes event May 30 and the winner Strike
It Rich racked up another tally in the G3 Boiling Springs here June 26.
#6
Full of Gut (15-1) has been in fine form on the main with five straight
Trifecta finishes. She flopped in her lone turf try but that was not for this
barn and she was shelved after that event. It’s Elliott/Asmussen again and I
will give her another shot on the green.
#2 Greeley’s Rocket (6-1) exits a romping
synthetic win and fired in two of three turf sprint outings. Her connections
are easy to like and she owns running style versatility. I don’t typically box
three horses unless they all figure to offer value, and that situation seems to
present itself in this Stakes affair.
