Holy alias Curlin, chief stirrer, in response to your question at the virused Destin thread, you may want to consider Esposito. Of course along with the Plate Trial boys Amis Gizmo and Shakhimat and the Oaks girls. I don't know why da Silva is on the Red horse, but give that one another look.
It is sad that bloodhorse and Horse Racing Nation didn't report any of this grief sooner or can't currently and offer horse racing fans of these beloved animals transparency and objectivity to raise everyone's awareness and aid the animals to care themselves with the information. Despicable to all involved and that includes anyone who had the info. of neglect and didn't act.
Destin's Kentucky Derby was quite good. He was 3rd with 3/16ths to go, and 4th a furlong out. Castellano stopped asking him with 100 yards to go--when he realized he couldn't do better than 6th, and the 7th horse was a few lengths back. He was going to be 6th anyway, but maybe by 5 1/2 instead of 7. He was obviously a bit short, and now may be ready to put in a top effort. Whether that will be good enough to beat Exaggerator remains to be seen. He may finish 3rd, behind Lani and Exaggerator, or 4th with Stradivari or Brody's Cause in the mix.

  • Holy Curlin via Disqus · What's up for the Queen's Plate, any thoughts? Watch a quick replay of the Woodbine Oaks. Fixate your eyes on Crumlin Spirit and her stretch drive of how she repeatedly gets shut off and checks a countless number of times by the favorite filly Gamble's Ghost while she's trying to give run at 25-1 and win and the favorite just missed from winning in that path. Totally should of came down but more importantly if she gets in perhaps she has a chance. She ran like fourth there a few lengths behind. I like Shakhimat. I like R. Attfield and I bet the colt to win The Transylvania at Keeneland. Is there anything that I need to look at or consider that you know of to win or cash some tix? · 2 hours ago
unfortunate news. decided retire from racing on owner's web site (http://www.sundaytc.co.jp/ Member's Only). his injury updated: igaments and tendon injury.
..I freakin love this Horse.. I just wanted him to Race as a 5 year old I wondered why they retired him so early :/ if I could go back in time I would go to 2014 TC Season and I know they would watch out for that injury he would soon get but the Truth is he Got Hurt and he didn't get a chance but that's Racing I guess and I just really wanted Honor code to be A great horse because we all know he is a very very good horse but To be one of the Elites.... Is still the dream but To me he will always be great and It reminded me of Violence the "Perfect Racehorse " ESPN called him and the same thing happened there's alot more heartbreak than Glory in Racing 😞
Checking all the G1 races won by the 2012 crop, many of them have the fastest winning times over the past 10 years. Frosted is extending this trend into 2016 with a record setting Met Mile!
The Queen is ready. You'll be surprise what the mother goose field will look like with her on it......
This list is a complete joke. Not taking anything away from the "grey ghost" Native Dancer who was a fantastic race horse, but doesn't deserve to be rated ahead of Man O'War, Secretariat, or "Big Ci", Citation. When Citation doesn't even make the top 10 you know the list is bogus.
  • pathfinder · This list really is complete bogus as it is a fan rating and not an expert rating, like I said below. Also, I would have to disagree with you about Native Dancer and Citation, but each to his own. ;D · 7 days ago
  • travel_vic · True, few people know how damaged he was when he took a year off and then came back for those great efforts against Noor. · 11 hours ago
The more I research and read comparisons by people who were old enough to have seen them both run, almost to a person, they rank Exterminator as good as, and most BETTER, than Man O'War. The great geldings run though history as the best: Forego, Kelso, John Henry, Phar Lap, Wise Dan, etc. Maybe it is because they had so many EXTRA chances to show us their quality, intestinal fortitude and shear strength of purpose.
And now above Frosted is targeting the Pegasus World Cup as a goal rather than the BC Classic? Huh? Does Shadwell really want to do that? It is one thing for Nyquist given his connections bought a place, but I would think that Shadwell would want to continue to protect the DWC with the horses they own outright.
He went 5f in :59 4/5 today
And here we have another Cigar.
Back in 2014 Madeira Mist, the dam of Joshua Tree, gave birth to twin fillies. The now 2yo pair are named Magic Mist and Madeira Moon were sired by Invincible Spirit and both have gone through pre-training. It looks like both fillies may race for their owner Lady O' Reilly! When asked by the Racing Post if the twins will run against each other in a race, Lady O'Reilly responded: "I hadn't thought that far ahead but that would be quite funny! We might try to do it just to make history. One looks more of a sprinting type but you never know, they're only two-year-olds, so it could happen." I hope it happens~
Will be aimed at the G1 Phoenix Stakes on August 7th according to trainer Aidan O'Brien. He is currently unbeaten in 3 starts, including a win in the G2 Coventry Stakes.
Has been retired due to suffering a knee fracture supposedly in the Albany Stakes.
Nominated to the G1 Delaware Handicap??
  • buckeye630 · She's nominated to both the Delaware Handicap and the CCAO. Porter posted this on Facebook just a little bit ago: "We have nominated to The Delaware Handicap in addition to the Coaching Club American Oaks. The Delaware race is a grade 1 against older fillies and mares for 750K. We will have the option of going to the race depending on who is running. We understand that Stellar Wind is not going to the Delaware Handicap on July 16th. Jerry Hollendorfer told me this morning how happy he is with our two year olds." It sounds like they are still keeping their options open. · 3 days ago

Saratoga: make sure you walk all around the track, over by the backstretch, near the gate and don't miss the US Racing Museum across the street (it is a treat unto itself). When I was last there a year ago, they were building a smaller exhibit near the main grandstand entrance as a display of what the Hall of Fame is all about to entice more participation. There is a smaller version of the great Secretariat statute in the paddock at Belmont, in a quiet garden area in the Hall of Fame. A must see. Look for the jockey silks room too: very colorful as far as you can see. The place exudes HISTORY in spades.
  • Pebbles via Disqus · Make certain to take the backstretch tours - the Oklahoma walking tour you can find out information about at the Racing Museum. It requires a donation, but the donation gets you admission to the museum. The main track tours are every morning I believe except Tuesday when the track is closed and Travers day. They start at 7:30/8:00 AM. · 14 hours ago
