Since a few days before last years juvenile this pic of a young Nyquist has been my home page on my phone. If this is his swan song, I say thanks for the memories馃惔鈾ワ笍 https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/672dc522dbf165b0f417c665560e62b5599100e7542a48889d74a27431ab50d9.jpg
  • Pebbles via DisqusI was fortunate to see him race in person 4 times. And I count myself very fortunate to have been able to see him that much with him based out West. A class act. 路 9 minutes ago
Guess no breeders cupfor her :(
Iron Fist is my key pick here. Liked his last in the Ack Ack and seems primed at a distance he's won the WV Derby before.
What's up with Songbird work? She usually fires a bullet. Today she finished 5 furlongs in 1:01 26/74...and this is her last work? Interestingly, if Beholder's 59 1/5 were clocked instead of six furlongs she would have had the 3rd fastest time... Her final work before the Cotillion was 47.60 which is a nice sharp work. This is one of the slowest works I have ever seen for her. Here are her final works for her other races post illness: Alabama 47.49 Coaching Club American Oaks 1:11.40 Summertime Oaks 1:25 4/5s It just seems like her final works have been much faster.
Obviously cannot be left out, he will strip a lot fitter than his 'City Of Hope' run when he was rusty and coming off a 4 month layoff, and still finishing a close up 3rd. Obviously will have anything between a 3 length to 7 length lead entering the Santa Anita stretch and he is GUARANTEED to be in the Top 3 at the wire, and hopefully the winner, he deserves it, he's still as good as ever at the age of 8. :-)
Apparently she died on the track after a workout at SA, possible heart attack. :( R.I.P.
Is she not going to the breederscup ?
Kiaran has also announced that Mubtaahij is no longer under BC consideration. Will soon begin quarantine for a return to Dubai to Micheal De Kock.

  • Pebbles via DisqusToo bad. I really thought the off track affected him. I think the climate and condition of the track at Santa Anita really would have been to his liking. He performed strongly on a dry, fast track in North America this year always moving forward in each race. His 4th place finish was not indicative of his class at all. We all saw what he could do in the Suburban and Belmont Stakes over the Belmont track and he finished a head behind Shaman Ghost in the Woodward. Stretching out I am certain he finishes ahead of Shaman Ghost. I am very, very sad about this. He deserves the chance. How many horses have finished as close to California Chrome at 10 furlongs this year? Beholder, Frosted, Dortmund, Mshawish, Hoppertunity, Keen Ice, etc. could not. But he did. 路 8 days ago
  • kenlau via DisqusDo you know when he is headed back to Dubai?? 路 2 hours ago
Sorry to see Mubtaahij going back to Dubai. I was hoping he would go to Breeder's Cup. Sorry he didn't do better in US. I think he had a few bad rides by his jockey. Just my opinion....
Is American Gal really in consideration for the Juvenile Fillies? That's exciting :)
The BSFs of the last 10 BCC races. If Chrome wins as expected, what BSF figure do you guess he'll get? 2016 California Chrome ( ? ) 2015 American Pharoah (120) 2014 Bayern (113) 2013 Mucho Macho Man (112) 2012 Fort Larned (117) 2011 Drosselmeyer (104) 2010 Blame (111) 2009 Zenyatta (112) 2008 Raven鈥檚 Pass (110) 2007 Curlin (119) 2006 Invasor (106)
Chrome's work today was phenomenal, he's raring to go! Rider never asked for a single step!
tomorrow nyquist does his last workout
Living The Life has been retired and will not run in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I), trainer Gary Mandella said Oct. 27. Mandella reported the Irish-bred daughter of Footstepsinthesand has "some filling" in one of her ankles.
I think Union Strike's back in Shelbe Ruis's barn. Also @hrn-8b4d495b325bf3028dc7fc6457568201:disqus she's been pre-entered in the BC Juvenile Fillies.
DId union strike pre enter?
Midnight Blvd won her maiden by 30 lengths.
*Unpopular opinion alert* Nyquist doesn't have a prayer in the Classic. They should skip and go to the Cigar Mile. Retiring him would be foolish (as long as he's healthy) and he should continue on through a 4 year old campaign where he doesn't race further than a mile. I want to see this horse do well again, and I truly think that success will come at shorter distances.
How do you write an article for HRN?
1st- Ironicus 2nd- Tourist 3rd- Photo Call 4th- Ring Weekend 5th- Karar 6th- Mondialiste 7th- Tepin
  • plosivesYour complete lack of respect for Tepin is disgusting. 路 5 days ago
  • ILuvTurfRacingIf I were looking past Tepin and wanted to use one of the American horses likely to be entered in this year's BC Mile, my pick would be Ironicus. He's got a serious turn of foot for sure. That being said, I like Limato's chances a lot and I also think if she maintains the same level of form she's shown recently in Europe after shipping to the states that Alice Springs might end up getting a big slice of this race too. But TJMO. 路 4 hours ago
