Rousing Sermon sits perfect trip in Bertrando

Thursday's 7th race (5:00pm PT) from Los Alamitos is the $100k Bertrando for CA-bred or sired 3-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track.

#3 Rousing Sermon (4-1) might fall into the garden spot trip behind a few speed horses. Hollendorfer excels turf-to-dirt and new pilot Pedroza has had some stakes success with this barn in the past (Blueskiesnrainbows)

#9 Storm Fighter (5-2) stalked and faded in the productive G2 Californian at 9f. He is 2-for-2 at a flat mile and beat my top in the April 26 Tiznow. Look out if he shakes loose early.

#7 Tribal Jewel (8-1) is also conditioned by Hollendorfer. He exits a clear place finish vs. $75k claimers at Santa Anita. He is 2-for-2 at this distance on dirt and can move up 2nd off the shelf.  

#5 Full Dancer (10-1) brings strong CD and OP form to the table for new trainer Truman. The early-pressing type loves this trip and figures in the thick of things throughout under Mike Smith.

#6 Rock Me Baby (6-1) is worth a gander at a decent price. He almost has to move forward after a much needed Santa Anita sprint and he's a pretty consistent performer if you draw a line through his two graded tries.

Fernando!!!! (Perez) A little pint sized fan at Hastings used to yell this repeatedly from his perch right next to the winner's circle. Glad to see this rider get his chance at the big time as he showed he would be competitive there. Now he is outdoing Mario.
if this meeting continues on the status that it did today, we can all see where that lower level Fairplex crowd wound up.
tough to know how the track configuration and surface will play on the prominant styles at this new surface
Sermon seems happy right now. Mr Ed translated for me. If speed favoring, Better Bet could wire.Why they put him on grass, I don't know. Also like the other Hollendorfer, Tribal Rule, and Spirit Rules. So, Better Bet to try to wire, and Sermon to get in gear and run him down. Not to mention half the field, but, Tiz A Min is interesting but may be too far back Long layoff, too. Will be fun to watch the first day at Los Al.
