It's incredibly rare when you can study a race and determine with conviction that the two best horses in the entire field are listed at morning line prices of 4/1 and 15/1. That is the case in today's seventh race at Keeneland, as Rope A Dope (4/1 morning line) and Laddie Boy (15/1 morning line) both appear to offer generous value on top of dominant form.

Laddie Boy has been blazing away on fast early paces against much better competition in each of his last two starts. The TimeformUS Pace Projector indicates that he owns a monumental pace advantage on this field and should have no problem establishing a loose early lead.

In his last two starts, Laddie Boy has run speed figures of 78 and 84. Only one other horse in today's field has ever run a figure faster than a 75, and that horse is Rope A Dope.

Rope A Dope won his career debut like a very good thing in one of those rich Maiden Special Weight races at Kentucky Downs with a purse of $90,000.  In that debut, Rope A Dope was assigned a joint field-best speed figure of 84. Trainer Wayne Catalano is one of the best in the business, and he has a spectacular array of trainer ratings with route horses. Rope A Dope has an excellent Pedigree Rating of 89 for synthetic routes and should relish the added ground today.

Laddie Boy and Rope A Dope clearly stand out from their opposition, and given their morning line prices, this is one of the most exciting betting races of the entire meet.
