Side Road ready to make the grade in Kentucky Turf Cup

Saturday's 9th race (5:35pm ET) from Kentucky Downs is the Grade III Kentucky Turf Cup for 3-year-olds and up traveling a mile and a half on the turf course. 

#7 Side Road (9-2) hooked some tough customers recently, including G2 Bowling Green hero Hyper, G1 Arlington Million winner Real Solution, and G3 Louisville 'Cap & G3 Stars and Stripes winner Dark Cove. Kiaran McLaughlin's long-winded colt sports a win and three 2nds from his last four firm turf marathons and earned the best last race number in the John's Call at Saratoga.

Good betting race with a hint of a price. Nothing really stands out in this race. But this track always seems to produce good prices in these kinds of races. Don't know if it's the track configuration or inability to get a hold of the contenders. However, contenders before scratches are: #3, 2 , 9, 8. The favorite #8 Temeraine (3/1) may be vulnerable having a sustained running style with my choice #2 Whatthecatdrugin (15/1) Court/McCauley. The #2 is the lone speed and has the best times with excellent connections. And, best of all, PRICE! Bet #2 to win. Exacta...2/all. Tri. 2/ 3, 9, 8, 6/ all. Good luck!!!
