Saturday's 8th race (4:40pm PT) from Betfair Hollywood Park is the Grade 2 American Handicap for 3-year-olds and up traveling a flat mile on the turf course.
#8 Mobilized (8-1) has never been better. He smartly won a downhill turf sprint March 30 and dusted next out winner Italian Rules in a local extended synthetic sprint April 28. He can handle a route of ground and should be motoring late under Gomez.
Will I'll Have Another Be The 12th Triple Crown Winner?
#10 Mr. Commons (8-5) is a late running flat mile turf expert for Shirreffs. He runs well fresh and could easily get the job done under Mike Smith.
I have always had a soft spot for #2 Wilkinson (20-1). I had him in last year's G3 Lecomte at Fair Grounds. He has hit the board in 4 of 7 turf starts and has been competitive against some decent East Coast runners (Brilliant Speed, Silver Medallion). Mullins has him now and he can make a late Trifecta run under Pedroza at square odds.
$10 to win #8
$6 Quinella 10/2-8 ($12)
$1 Trifecta 8-10/ALL/2 ($18)
