Thursday's 4th race (2:04PM PT) from Hollywood Park is a straight Maiden event for fillies and mares dashing six furlongs on the turf.

#2 Catchy Tune (7-2) rallied to finish a respectable 4th in her Cushion Track sprint bow Oct 11. She encountered swift fractions in a turf route second time out and was beaten 4.5 lengths in another respectable showing. Profitable turf conditioner Paco Gonzalez adds the hood to her equipment and she reunites with Flores on the turnback.

#5 Milliondollarbill (6-1) took action (3-1) and was outrun in her off the turf (slop) debut at Calder last December. Koriner is enjoying a fine meet and excels with 90+ day layoff runners. Espinoza is 29% with this outfit and Speightstown is a solid grass sire.

#7 Candace Gold (3-1) dueled through above par splits and was the 3rd head on the line vs. this kind Nov 19. She dons the hood and is probably the one to catch under Bejarano.

#6 Orfano (8-1) is out of 22% debut turf sire Mr. Broad Blade and dam has tossed a turf winner. O'Neill is winless with his last eleven debut turf runners and Rosario hops aboard. Mixed signals.

The Plays: $18 to win #2, Trifecta 2-5/2-5-6-7/2-5-6-7 ($12)

  • railbird1 · Hey Jarrod: I remember that. Racing on the Net was where I first came across your picks. I was truly amazed.I remember one specific instance I'll never forget. You picked a horse called checkers at Del Mar a few years back. I looked at his form and thought Jarrod has lost his mind this time. I bet the pick-4 that day and missed one leg. You guessed it. It was checkers. He won at 23-1. I beat my head with my hand several times and right then and there I vowed I will never throw out a Jarrod Horak pick again ! Just another story in a long list of winners you have given me over the years.Being a proud handicapper and intelligent handicapper I never considered anyone to be better than me at it and no one ever proved me wrong until I came across you on Racing on the Net. High praise indeed coming from a man who doesn't give it lightly. · 2046 days ago
