Sunday's 5th race (3:05PM PT) from Oak Tree at Hollywood Park is a $20,000 claming event for fillies and mares dashing six furlongs on Cushion Track.

#5 Small But Mighty (7-2) is repeating a winning pattern today. In 2008 she followed up an even 3rd at Fairplex with a $25,000 (NW2L) Oak Tree claiming win. Last time at Fairplex she finished a wide, even 4th of 4 in her first start in more than seven months. The 2-time local winner almost has to move forward and projects a tactical trip under Martin Garcia. I also like the one-level class hike following a loss and note that she sprung forward the last time she raced 2nd off the shelf.

The Plays: $30 to win #5

Good call on #5, will be a definite player in here. May try a Super, pretty good payouts even when the favs are on top. Their not Belmont or Keenland payouts but you can a couple hundred on a $6 to $12 bet. Possible template: $1.00 Superfecta 3,5/2,3,5/3,4,5/1,2,4 = $10.00. Pozzoulirulz and I have had some success of late with Supers at Oak Tree especially in the 6 to 8 horse fields. On side note, used the pick6blog to hit the 50 cent pick 4 tonight. As always thanks for analysis Jarrod.
