Sunday's 5th race (3:05PM PT) from Oak Tree at Hollywood Park is a $20,000 claming event for fillies and mares dashing six furlongs on Cushion Track.
#5 Small But Mighty (7-2) is repeating a winning pattern today. In 2008 she followed up an even 3rd at Fairplex with a $25,000 (NW2L) Oak Tree claiming win. Last time at Fairplex she finished a wide, even 4th of 4 in her first start in more than seven months. The 2-time local winner almost has to move forward and projects a tactical trip under Martin Garcia. I also like the one-level class hike following a loss and note that she sprung forward the last time she raced
2nd off the shelf.
