Saturday's 10th race (4:43PM CT) from Fair Grounds is the Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes for 3yo's traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the main track. #6 DROSSELMEYER (4-1) earned strong triple digit speed rating in sharp entry level win at the Gulf last time. Gets pace to chase and should get a big jump on his late running rivals. $600k Keeneland sales grad is 2 for 2 on conventional dirt and should continue to progress for Mott. #9 Stay Put (8-1) has been pointing to this for quite some time. Stretch runner is 2 for 2 here. #11 Ron The Greek (3-1) rolled from off the pace in the Lecomte, and he’ll be rumbling home again. #10 Letsgetitonmon (8-1) rallied for the show in Lecomte. He can get a piece once again. #12 Hotep (12-1) looked good rallying for win in paceless optional claiming affair last time. Albarado sticks with well bred colt. THE PLAYS: $36 to win #6, $1 Trifecta Key 6/9-10-11-12 ($12), $1 Trifecta 9-10-11-12/6/9-10-11-12 ($12)

Big day for Pletcher across the nation on Saturday, and his speedy colt Discreetly Mine made all the running in the Risen Star Stakes. Actually, the top three controlled proceedings throughout, and favorite Drosselmeyer missed the place by a neck and a head. Late runners Stay Put and Ron The Greek were next across the line. This did not look like a strong prep, and the Louisiana Derby winner will probably ship in.
