This is a simple play-against as General Quarters gets this warm up after being off since the Preakness and having surgery to remove bone chips. GQ is winless in six starts of distances between 6f and 7f. (He did win his debut going 4 1/2f, but that was a five-horse maiden claimer in May of his 2yo year.)
In this race, there are two horses to key on:
#7 Tempo Five (9-5 ML) is a serious player coming in off a 100 Beyer and a second-place finish in the Thanksgiving Hcp.
#2 Credit Only (8-1 ML) could be the only speed or the speed of the speed. The #3 horse to his outside has some speed, but if unpressured, this guy could be gone.
It really depends on how much they bet down GQ, but as they do, it will make the #2 and #7 more and more of overlays. We'll try to get GQ out of the exacta for the full value.
