POST TIME 5:55 PM EDT--All eyes will be on the precocious #6 Avie's Quality shipping in from Florida (Woodbine prior) out of the seriously underrated Josie Carroll barn.  This turf/poly colt has improved in a big way in each and every race.  He looks very viable here but I can't take the likely 6-5 post time odds given this is a "first-time dirt" move today.  Your pace leader in this race will undoubtedly be #4 Oxbow shipping in from California after racing in Kentucky during the Fall.  This speedster will surprise us some and I project a gutsy finish as his only early challenger is the sprinter #2 Heitai.  I can see a scenario here in which these two are out front but they back up the field going, fair, but moderate fractions... but stamina is a question for both. Stamina is not in question, however, when it comes to #7 Golden Soul.  This Perfect Soul colt impressed me in his maiden win last out as he drew away with ease.  Those last two works were huge telling me this guy has another move, and probably a big move, forward today.  Will need pace to run at, however.  One of the few in here that has excelled at the route distance.  #3 Fear the Kitten is my second choice.  Churchill Downs shippers have just cleaned up down here and it looks like Maker has this one ready for a strong return off the layoff.  Another that is going to need some heat up front as his energy distribution profile is decidedly late.

The Wager:

$.60 Superfecta 7 with 2,3,4,6 with 1,2,3,4,6,8 with All ($72)

$1 Trifecta 3,7 with 2,3,4,6,7 with 1,2,3,4,6,7,8  ($40)

We have the same top two in reverse, Mike. Good luck!

Not to mention, Golden Soul is one of the few in the field that is tested at thi distance.

7 Golden Soul 6 Avie's Quality 1 Malibu High. Circle Unbroken is coming off a layoff, making a 2 1/2 furlong jump in distance. I can't play him because of that. Avie's Quality is good on paper, but the dirt is an unknown variable in his performance. Golden Soul was a second in his debut, and romped by 7 in his second start, and was at this track. He has a win at FG, he romped last out, and he has a confident young jockey on his back, who has been riding superb lately. I got #7 Golden Soul across here.

in the top three 6 Avie's Quality 8 Circle Unbroken 7 Golden Soul but knowing what I know now of Josie Carroll, I would think twice about it after what she did with Inglorious
