Thursday's 5th race (4:10pm PT) from Del Mar is an Optional Claiming event for CA-bred fillies and mares traveling one mile on the turf course (rail at 14 feet).

#2 This Means War (9-2) is out of 14% first grass sire War Chant and dam has tossed a turf winner. Trainer Dean Pederson does fine work with first grass runners and regular pilot Joe Talamo has been riding well on turf recently (Let's Go Cheyenne, Casino Host, Obviously). Her even synthetic sprint running style frequently translates well to routes and her local Aug 23 turf work looks solid.

Good pick Jarrod. This is a Harris Farms horse, improving with a good work out and dropping out of non graded stakes company. I'll bet him at 9/2 or better and take exactas with the #4 and #5. Good luck!!!
