Grade 2 Del Mar Handicap (5:30PM PT): A full field has been assembled for this competitive graded marathon, and I will take a price shot with #3 Sir Dave (12-1). He was right there in his two turf marathon stakes tries, and he was a good 2nd behind today's fav #8 Spring House (5-2) in NoCal. Raced wide from outside post in 12f synthetic event off a layoff last time, and he probably didn't like the footing. Rebound threat attracts Rosario and returns to the sod. #7 Obrigado (6-1) got no pace help in compact Hollywood event last time. Won a graded race in June and can go better in this spot. #2 Temple City (15-1) scratched out of yesterday's Del Mar Mile Handicap in favor of this longer event. Was respectable 4th in San Diego (G2) last time and won on turf in July. The Plays: $12 to win #3, $4 quinella 3/2-7-8 ($12), $1 trifecta 2-3-7/2-3-7-8-9/2-3-7-8-9 ($36)
