Thursday's 5th race (4:00PM PT) from Del Mar is a straight Maiden event for 2-year-old fillies traveling a flat mile on the turf (rail at 7 feet).

#2 Family Plan (5-1) ran into subsequent G3 Sorrento Stakes winner Wickedly Perfect in her June 27 five furlong Hollywood bow. She is out of 16% first turf sire Repriced and dam has tossed five grass winners. She dons the hood and could show much more on the surface switch.

#4 So She Dances (6-1) is bred to route (Tiznow-Woodman) and dam has tossed a pair of turf winners. Rosario climbs aboard the debut threat.

#5 Cayanna (8-5) has hit the board in four of five lifetime starts. She adds blinkers and Machowsky is 36% with his 2nd time turf starters. Bejarano strings along.

The Plays: $16 to win #2, $1 Trifecta 2-4/2-4-5/ALL ($24) - analysis by Jarrod Horak

If babies dirt records projected turf success we would all be rich. Only one in here who really shows much is the rail horse, Arta B Tappin but there are too many unknowns here to make a logical assessment of things,
