Thursday's 8th race (5:40pm PT) from Del Mar is a $30,000 Maiden Claiming heat for 2-year-old fillies dashing five and one-half furlongs on Polytrack.
#4 Ascription (3-1) finished 3rd (beaten 8.5 lengths) in her local $50k Maiden Claiming synthetic bow at 5f. She dons the hood and Gutierrez is 6-for-12 with O'Neill recently. She shows two solid local works since her July 26 bow and should be forwardly placed at a speed friendly distance.

#9 Tookmebysurprise (7-2) finished 2nd in her NoCal bow and 3rd here Aug. 1. She figures in the hunt from the outset.
#7 Sweet Millicent (7-2) finished a length behind my top July 26 and she adds blinkers as well. Hollendorfer is enjoying a productive meet.
AE #12 Rousseau (4-1) disappointed in her local bow as the 3-2 favorite. Mitchell excels with second time starters and she could go much better under Maldonado.
$18 to win #4
$2 Trifecta Key 4/7-9-12 ($12)
