Saturday's 9th race (6:00PM PT) from Del Mar is the G1 Del Mar Oaks for 3-year-old filies traveling nine furlongs on the turf.
#3 Perfect Shirl (6-1) is rapidly improving for Attfield and Chantal Sutherland rides her well. The versatile filly exits a sharp Graded score at the Spa and is living up to her strong grass pedigree.
#7 It Tiz (8-1) raced wide from an outer post and was beaten less than two lengths in a better than appears 4th vs. local Grade 2 turfers July 25. She won her previous two turf outings and is bred to enjoy today's added furlong.
#9 Crisp (6-1) clipped heels early in same race It Tiz exits. She has run well without winning in both turf outings and sports a bullet for this. Bejarano hops aboard the Grade 1 winner.
#4 Evening Jewel (5-2) always runs her early-pressing race but her numbers are nothing special and she will not offer much value. I will try to beat the underlaid contender on the win end.
#1 Berg Bahn (8-1) and
#5 Distinctive (15-1) both own competitive overseas Class Ratings. The former exits a Group 3 tally and the latter placed in a Group 3 in June.
