#7 La Nez (9-2) could be the
now horse in this event. The Eric Kruljac trainee exits a smart extended sprint Polytrack victory vs. state bred Stakes foes. Her lone turf try was in the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf last fall and she rallied to split a 12-horse field over a speed conducive course. She deserves another shot on the green and must be respected from off the pace in her current form.
#6 Fortunia (5-2) failed to settle (rank, steadied) in a local Grade 2 against Evening Jewel here July 25. She was necked by Wasted Tears at Lone Star before that and shows up in a tight spot today. Obvious threat if profitable turf jock Nakatani can get her to settle.
#2 Conniption (3-1) failed to threaten Graded rivals in her last pair and should appreciate today's class relief. She figures to be rallying from last for a profitable 23% turf barn.
