Thursday's 8th race (5:35pm PT) from Del Mar is a $16,000 claiming Polytrack dash (six furlongs) for 3-year-olds and up which have never won three races.
#1 Hope 'n Pray (6-1)
was nabbed out of his last by sharp conditioner Andy Mathis. He exits a rallying show finish vs. similar local rivals at 5.5f and today's added distance helps. The versatile sort attracts quality rider Pereira and should offer wagering value.

#8 Cuneo (9-2)
turns back, switches surfaces, and Kent D clicks with Pender. He romped the last time he tried six furlongs.
#5 Awesome Indy (8-1)
finished an even 4th of 12 vs. local $8k claimers July 23 and the winner came back to score again. He might be rounding back into form.
#4 Luz Atticus (5-1) drops and switches surfaces off the shelf. He has won here before and might spring to life for Machowsky.
