Thursday's 8th race (5:35pm PT) from Del Mar is a $16,000 claiming Polytrack dash (six furlongs) for 3-year-olds and up which have never won three races.

#1 Hope 'n Pray (6-1) was nabbed out of his last by sharp conditioner Andy Mathis. He exits a rallying show finish vs. similar local rivals at 5.5f and today's added distance helps. The versatile sort attracts quality rider Pereira and should offer wagering value.

#8 Cuneo (9-2) turns back, switches surfaces, and Kent D clicks with Pender. He romped the last time he tried six furlongs.  

#5 Awesome Indy (8-1) finished an even 4th of 12 vs. local $8k claimers July 23 and the winner came back to score again. He might be rounding back into form.

#4 Luz Atticus (5-1) drops and switches surfaces off the shelf. He has won here before and might spring to life for Machowsky.

Good race for a price as the favorite, Zippinaround is vulverable due to having hard last races and the last the highest number of its career....going to be hard to duplicate. Therefore, the race opens up for a price and boils down to two horses, #4 Luz Atticus (5/1) and the surprise horse, #9 Southern Sunshine (12/1). The #4 is dropping out of the clouds which means they are hard up to win a race and maybe trying to unload the horse at the same time. I will go with the price as he has a better R.O.I Bet #9 to win, 2X to place. Exotics: 9/ 4, 5, 1 and reverse. Good luck!!!
