POST TIME 8:40 PM EDT--A sharp field of nine go postward in the G2 La Jolla Handicap headlined by Bob Baffert's ultra consistent charge, #2 Den's Legacy.  I see him sitting the catbird trip in third off the speedsters in this race which are #6 Rosengold and #7 Freakin Rocket.  An honest pace will be assured and an Exacta or Trifecta finish by Den's Legacy seems highly likely.  I turn my attention, however, to #8 Dice Favor as my top win contender at a decent price.  It appears that this one prefers synthetic over turf as he moved up big time when making that surface shift.  However, I attribute that move forward to be part of an orderly progression of a quality horse rather than due exclusively to surface type.  He ran a big race last out in the G2 Swaps at Hollywood Park against the likes of Tiz a Minister.  Makes his third start off the layoff and the cut back in distance is favorable.  Others to consider underneath include Sadler's #5 Greeley Awesome, #9 Pure Loyalty and #4 Dry Summer.

THE WAGER:

$1 Superfecta 8 with 2,4,5,9 with ALL with 2,4,5,9

$1 Trifecta 2,4,5,9 with 8 with 2,4,5,9
