Thursday's 8th race (5:30PM PT) from Del Mar is a Maiden Claiming event for state bred or sired 2-year-old fillies traveling five and one-half furlongs on Polytrack.

#5 Table For One (6-1) hit the board in first two Hollywood outings and earned par or better Final Time Ratings both times. She raced wide and disappointed as the favorite vs. similar rivals at that venue last time. Bejarano strings along and she could rebound at playable odds today.

#10 Desperate Measures (7-2) broke slow and landed the place in same race my top exits. Gaines is a solid 16% with second time starters and she has every right to move forward.

#11 Sean S (6-1) debuts for the recently hot James Cassidy and she sports a steady string of Santa Anita works. She is out of a 19% win early sire and dam's other starter won.

The Plays: $18 to win #5, $6 Quinella 5/10-11 ($12) - analysis by Jarrod Horak

Nailed back-to-back Plays of the Day at Del Mar. My 8-1 top Table For One rallied for the place behind my second choice Desperate Measures, and my suggested Quinella came back $23.40 x 3. I have also been knocking at the door at pick6blog.com. For the second time at the 7-day old Del Mar meet, I nailed 5 out of 6 on back-to-back days, and the Thursday conso was $840.40. The Friday carryover is more than $100k and the July 30 tickets are now posted.
