Thursday's 6th race (4:40pm PT) from Del Mar is an Optional Claiming event for 3-year-old fillies traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the turf course.

#5 Mary Fildes (4-1) flashed Great Britain turf ability in 2011. She raced four times at Meydan (Tapeta) earlier this year with two underneath finishes to her credit. Callaghan does fine work with new additions to his barn and Bejarano ends up here. She finished up well in her local 4f turf drill (Bejarano up) on July 19 and should offer a hint of value.

#10 Belle De Lune (5-1) invades from France. She fired Exacta shots in 3 of her last 4 and could easily be this good for Proctor.

#6 Long Face (7-2) tackled Stakes foes in 3 of 5 career starts with a place finish in the Le Cle at BHP last out. She showed stalking ability last time and is entered in a tight spot today.

The Plays:

$18 to win #5

$6 Quinella 5/6-10 ($12)

You are right, thechris123. Mary Fildes was slow to begin, rank, steadied, and wide in her US bow. She did well to finish 3rd and is worth following.
