Wednesday's 8th race (5:35pm PT) from Del Mar is the $90,000 Wickerr Stakes for 3-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the turf course (rail at 6 feet).

#3 Te Rapa (5-1) likes the local green (7-4-0-2) and exits a rallying show finish off a 4+ month vacation. Mike Smith sticks and he gets pace to chase in the paper race.

#4 Bright Thought (3-1) is fresh, training well, and reunites with his favorite pilot Bejarano. He drops out of the graded ranks and should make his presence felt throughout.

#5 No Jet Lag (7-2) runs well off the bench and scored in his U.S. debut at this course-distance last year under today's pilot Nakatani.

#6 Safety Belt (5-1) beat my top choice at Santa Anita June 21 and Talamo has options with the versatile sort.

The Plays:

$12 to win #3

$12 Quinella 3-4

$1 Trifecta key 3 over 4, 5, 6 ($6)

The rails are out to 6’ but speed was dangerous again today… Rangi was on the lead for a long time and Pedroza/Duran Pulla Trained the 5th race for a juicy exacta.
That was weird. Winner looked like a fat sprinter. 8 Lil Bit O Fun (?!), 9 Rangi(really?) 4 Bright Thought, 1 Boyett. Man!
I like No Jet Lag. He beats these bunch last year.
Boyett!
Bright Thought should just make this easy on himself and wire. Why can't they all be good, fast and consistent? 4,5,6,7.
Contenders before scratches: #7, 6, 4, 5. The favorite, #4 Bright Thought (3/1) is legitimate but is luke warm by the M.L. maker. So, I will go to the value of the race for a modest price...#7 Barocci (5/1), Espinoza/Sadler, who is also the class of the race. Bet to win and exotics with the #6, 4, 5, 3, 2. Good luck!!!
before scratches contenders are:7 Barocci (JPN) 5 No Jet Lag 4 Bright Thought 1 Boyett 9 4 go out and 7 5 come later
