Thursday's 3rd race (3:09pm PT) from Del Mar is a $40,000 claiming event for 3-year-old fillies traveling a flat mile on the turf course.

#1 Roses for Joni (6-1) returns to the Barry Abrams barn following a successful stint in NoCal while under the care of Steve Sherman. Juan Hernandez rides her well and is 2-for-3 with this barn. A ground saving early-pressing trip is expected.

#6 She Spirit Di Su (2-1) drops, switches surfaces, and stretches back out for sharp 3rd off the shelf trainer Simon Callaghan. She reunites with winning pilot Bejarano and will try to get involved late.

#2 Star Vesta (5-2) is a New York shipper now trained by Cody Autrey. The early-pressing type likes turf and seems realistically spotted.

The Plays:

$18 to win #1

$6 Quinella 1/2-6 ($12)

I've been betting your picks for the last couple weeks. And of course I don't bet the last two days when you've had solid winners. I'm 47% mad right now.

Nice pick jarrod. I thought the horse would be there, but I liked the favorite better. Hope my horse hits in the 8th!
