Festive Spirit goes for sharp new outfit at DelPark

Wednesday's 5th race (3:03pm ET) from Delaware Park is an Optional Claiming event for 3-year-olds and up traveling a mile and seventy yards on the main track.

#2 Festive Spirit (7-2) exita a romping $5k claiming win at Pimlico over a next out winner and he was nabbed out of that heat by sharp trainer Juan Vazquez. New rider Carol Cedeno does business with this barn (6-for-18) and he's a solid win threat with anything resembling his last.

#3 Untethered (3-1) is a quality performer on fast dirt and he's probably the one to catch for the productive Cintron-Ness team.

#1 Canal Street (9-2) rallied to earn multiple minor awards in his last few Pimlico starts. He should save ground before launching a late run for a share.

The Plays:

$15 to win #2

$5 Exacta Box 2, 3 ($10)

.50 cent Trifecta 2, 3 with ALL with 1 ($5)

will see which horses can run there. Over the years we have had high quality gallopers from big venues ship and and could not handle the turns...Akin to the way many could not handle Fairplex even though, on paper, much better. Short coupled horses are the only ones who need apply.
Nathan my pick is "Almost" Jersey Joe Talamo. If the only track one can compare it to is FG. Before heading to the Wrong Coast,he ruled the Bayou Palace as a kid. Sure he remembers some of those tricks up his sleeve.
It will be interesting to see which jockeys can adapt quickly to the new Los Al.
Thanks, amino998 and rafirox. This race worked out quite well with my top scoring and the suggested underneath tri horse landing in the right position. My recent good fortune could come to a screeching halt at Los Al but their new thoroughbred meet will be a fun handicapping challenge.
E-mail hearnimal and we'll get down :)
Nathan there are a couple of Yogis roaming the woods for this weekend.
Nice cash, Jarrod. Keep up the good work. I've been paying attention to your picks lately as you've been hot, but unfortunately I did not bet this one. Keep up the good work and high class.

Eureka >> of course top choices run 1st and 3rd, you DISCOVERED that?
100's and 100's of times since it was first suggested that's all
Look again, Magoo.
mis-read the ALL as place
Your splitzacta only got hot and dirty in this race :D
I see no payoff in any exotic bets suggested here today.
When many look at exacta construction, they often ASSUME that the top two WIN prospects should be the first consideration. An amazing article called the 55% solution showed that often the place horse was a completely different horse in racing style form and ability. Often the pace that backed up LONG, or the deep mover that did not get there SHORT. This is how I discovered the SPLITZACTA format or template that is fundamental to my wager construction. Top two WIN prospects put in the 1st and 3rd positions in exotics and then logical and some ILLOGICAL place horses.......Works to ferret out some bigger prices.
That's it, t_v... no mention of your expert bet structure analysis. Keying that longshot in 3rd led to a 137-1 payoff... Nice bet, Jarrod, must be a statistical outlier :)
2 6 1 3 at the wire 5th
Ever see a chart of statistical representation of a series of numbers as combinations and permutations? One has to consider WIDER and WIDER bases the further on constructs the predictability.......Takes coverage like that to get most trifectas, supers.
