Wednesday's 8th race (9:41pm ET) from Mountaineer is an Optional Claiming heat for 3-year-olds and up dashing five and one-half furlongs on the main track.

#5 Judge Carr (5-2) was one I followed on the SoCal circuit. He traveled east to ThistleDown (2nd on April 18) and won on May 7 and was unprepared for the start vs. a next out winner May 24. Sharp local rider Loveberry (25% here) clicks with Radosevich (3 for last 9) and he looms a stalk and pounce winner with a clean journey.

cancelled after what the 6th?
one of the major assessments anyone should consider BEFORE even handicapping a contest is pool distribution: How will the monies bet on this race be distributed? In a field of lets, say 12, the favorite, no matter how big a favorite, is in amongst 11 other betting interests so even if it holds onto that favoritism, the other will usually draw enough betting money away from it so that a wager will still have a chance at profit. You get these fields of 6 and that cannot happen. There is no buffer on the overwhelming short price of the favorite logical or not. SECOND some race course are notoriously chalky. One should establish a hierarchy in knowing which ones fall into this category (like The Fair Grounds and inner Aqueduct of late) so that you can steer clear of the ridiculous odds you are GOING to get each and every day. Some track have a higher than average payout and larger fields (Oaklawn and Woodbine are chief examples but not exclusive to this category). Why waste the time and effort on a choice the everyone is backing. Like selling a house worth 350,000 for 352,000...waste of time.
6 goes out and then 5 4 3 come later
