Wednesday's 8th race (7:55pm ET) from Colonial Downs is a $5,000 claiming event for fillies and mares which have never won three races lifetime. They will dash five furlongs on the inner turf course.
#12 County Gold (6-1) looms the one to reel in for the recently hot Sarah Rook/Dane Kobiskie team. Look for her to sprint away early and try to hang on.
#13 Tailtiu (6-1) might be the first to attack if/when my top fades. She makes her second start for profitable, high percentage trainer Mike Pino and has every right to run better today.
#3 Davina's Baby (5-1) won a local turf sprint last summer and exits back-to-back place finishes over the Pimlico weeds.
#5 April's Dixie Belle (9-2) rallied to cash minor checks in both turf sprints from post 10 and can get a piece of this as well.
#11 Boundfortheshore (7-2) is a 2-time local turf winner and she is probably good for at least a share. Today's rider Malcolm Franklin is 1-for-52 on the weeds recently.
The Plays: $18 to win #12, 50 cent Trifecta 12-13/3-5-11-12-13/3-5-11-12-13 ($12)
