Churchill Downs’ 9th race this Friday (5/4) is
the Gr. II Alysheba Stakes. This race is
on the dirt and will consist of horse’s 3yr olds and upward running 1 1/16
miles for a purse of $300,000.
# 2 - Successful Dan (3-1) is making his second trip back to
the track this year with rider Julien Leparoux back in the saddle. The last seven times Leparoux has been aboard
this horse the results have been no worse than a second place.
# 4 - The morning line favorite is Mucho Macho Man (2-1) who
is looking to go for his fourth win in a row.
Mucho Macho Man will look to be up on the pace with rider Ramon
Dominguez. The Macho Uno colt placed
third at Churchill Downs here last in the 2011 Kentucky Derby, his only start
on this this track.
# 7 - Another horse to watch out for is Apart (9-2). He will most likely do his best running late
with Garrett Gomez in the irons. The son
of Flatter seems to like this distance for he has never been off the board
running 1 1/16 miles.
# 1 - Nates Mindshaft
(5-1) is another horse on a winning streak.
Looking for his fifth win in a row the Mineshaft horse will be looking
to wire the field again. Should experience
a bit more pressure but will include in the exotics.
Plays: $4 win, $6 place, $10 show on 2 , $.50 Trifecta 2/1-4/1-4-7 ($2)
