Friday's 9th race (3:52pm ET) from Churchill Downs is the Grade II Alysheba Stakes for 4-year-olds and up traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the main track.

#8 BOURBON COURAGE (4-1) ran well in the Clark here last fall. The consistent finisher seems to pack a decent punch when he breaks from outer posts and I am going to the well one more time.

#7 Macho Macho (5-1) beat my top in the West Virginia Derby last year. He won a race here in 2012 and should move forward after racing wide and finishing a ½ length behind my top in his needed New Orleans ‘Cap return March 30.

#9 Cyber Secret (7-2) went 4-for-4 at Oaklawn this winter and is an obvious outside tactical threat if he brings that form to Louisville.

#6 Take Charge Indy (4-1) is usually in the hunt throughout but has dropped five straight and 9 of his last 10. He will be part of the pace, along with a few other longshots.

#4 Hymn Book (3-1) moves up on a wet track and does some of his best work at Belmont Park. The 7yo gelding will probably take too much action in his first start in 5+ months.

#5 Richard’s Kid (5-1) prefers synthetic and the 8yo has dropped eight straight.

THE PLAYS:

$36 to win #8

$6 Exacta 8/7-9 ($12)

$6 Exacta 7-9/8 ($12)
