Bomber Shocker in the G3 Eight Belles

POST TIME 3:02 EDT--The G3 Eight Belles stakes Stakes is shaping up to be one of the best races on the Oaks/Derby cards.  A contentious full field of 14 are ready to engage in battle as they break from the chute in this 7 furlong affair.  The race is loaded with "need to lead" speed with #11 Dancinginthecircle and #14 Calistoga bringing the most pressure to the front.  Joining this pair will be #1 Chortle and the overmatched #6 Neith.  Favortism is likely to land on Todd Pletcher-trained #2 Fusaichiswonderful and it would be deserved.  She'll sit the trip behind the wall of speed biding her time before dashing with a burst for the wire.  My top pick here, however, is going to be a bit of a shocker in #8 Gold Medal Dancer.  She makes her second race off the long layoff after breaking last of all in her 2013 debut at Oaklawn Park.  With a clean break she'll sit in an outside presser pocket before commencing her run.  That work at CD on 4/23 was striking.  Look for a filly ready to move forward again in a big way.  Can she defeat Fushaichis wonderful?  That is the question but value on Gold Medal Dancer is a guarantee.  Others to consider in our exotics would be #9 So Many Ways, #12 Touch Magic and #4 Sittin at the Bar.
