Ok, only a few more days till the Super Bowl of Horse Racing so I think it is time to make my picks.

Before You go down and look at my bets, let me explain the first one, Ice Box.  This is a longshot, yes, but one, I am always lucky with longshots and two, this horse is in the best condition of his life.  Coming off the best performance since the prep race to the Derby last year, and with three strait 37 mph workouts, this horse is in his prime.  I think he is a great bet and hope he pays out.

Not sure if I understand?: Coming off the best performance since the prep race to the Derby last year, and with three strait 37 mph workouts, this horse is in his prime.
  • mjtags11 · He may not be in the nationally recognized definition of "prime" but the conditions entering this race are very similiar to when he finished 2nd in the Derby. So he is in HIS definition of prime, that is what i mean. · 1665 days ago

  • mjtags11 · It is not supposed to be raining at all on friday or saturday at Churchill so the track Saturday should be fast track on the dirt and most likely firm on the turf (can never tell with the turf though). So the ground should not matter too much. · 1667 days ago
No such thing as a $.50 pick 6. Min wager on them is $2.
  • mjtags11 · Sorry, I was not sure which ones the BCC was doing, thats what some tracks do. Thanks for correcting me. · 1667 days ago
good test of the surface is to see how the 3, in the second today (Thursday) will fare coming from far back versus the suggested pace horses 6 and 8
unless thats changed this year
