Monday's 9th race from Belmont Park is the Grade 1 Prioress for 3-year-old fillies dashing six furlongs on the main track.

#6 POMEROYS PISTOL (4-1) exits a razor sharp going away victory in a minor stakes event at Monmouth. She projects the right stalking trip behind multiple early runners (Roman Treasure, Our Year, Quantum Miss, Alienation) and she captured a graded sprint at Gulfstream earlier this year.

#1 Her Smile (10-1) is probably not fast enough be she has fine connections in her corner and figures to enjoy the contested pace. She will also relish this shorter trip.

THE PLAYS: $18 to win #6, $4 Exacta Box 1-6 ($8), $1 Trifecta 6/ALL/1 ($4)

This one played out exactly like it looked on paper. I'll take the saver exacta for a profit over $100. Congrats to Bobby Flay!

You are right. No published works for Pomeroys Pistol is a bit of a concern. Hope paper race plays out on track and I'll take my chances if 4-1 price holds up.

Jarrod,

Don't disagree with your analysis and took a long look at her too. The thing that bothered me was no workouts in a month. Looking back you can see Tarrant worked her twice between each race, why not this time? Overall, this is a wide open race and should be a good one.
