A mile and a half seems too daunting for a horse to go gate to wire, but I just saw Redeemed get an easy lead and draw off to win the Brooklyn Handicap at Belmont.  Same thing could happen in the Belmont Stakes, I like Paynter go gate to wire or sit just off Unstoppable U and draw off at the end.  I don't think Dullahan or Union Rags can sustain their drives for a mile and a half and fade while Street Life and/or Atigun completes the exoctics.

My plays: 100 to win/place on Paynter

20 exacta box on Paynter/Street Life/Atigun

1 trifecta on 1/3/5/9 with 1/3/4/5/9/12 with 1/3/4/5/9/12

Total bets  400

Ok I was mostly right, Paynter did get an easy lead, but Union Rags got thru along the rail and out finished him. I can't believe Smith let Union Rags get thru, he should had the rail, then Paynter could have won, with Atigun second and Union Rags third, I could have had a big day. Well I hit the tri and got place money on Paynter.
It will be hard for him to be on the lead from post 9 while Unstopable U has the rail
In the last 65 years no horse more than 5 lengths off the pace at the 1st call have won this race. Union Rags at Belmont with that high cruising speed is just to fast on that speedway. He'll win by at least 6 lengths over this group with JV aboard. They ran IHA injured for the last two races and scratched him now bringing his odds down from 6/1 to 2/1 at best, more likely 7/5. They could have had the courtesy to let him run like they did Big Brown who similar to IHA only has one work on the turf no less, IHA had NONE.
Agree, especially if the track is off & wet from rain.
Don't tell, Creme Fraiche, Conquistador Cielo, Swale and many many others. THe front is hswre its at in the Belmont stakes
IF, this one keeps up his improvement, AND its last "super line" is real, not propped up by the huge negative variant that was alive that last day at Pimlico, then this colt has a real shot....Pace wise Adonis could be out there giving him a very hard time as well.....Watch the replay of the Brooklyn: POSITION at this distance is the key.
