Wednesday's 6th race (3:30pm ET) from Belmont Park is an Optional Claiming event for 3-year-olds and up dashing seven furlongs on the main track.

#2 Professor Fate (5-1) exits an above par place finish at the Spa Aug 24 and new trainer Guerrero excels first off the claim. He projects a tactical trip under Ortiz in his 3rd start off the shelf.

Play Hoosier Park's Survive the Week game at DerbyWars.com.

#5 Shankopotamus (3-1) has the speed to succeed and is a 2-time winner at seven panels. He wins the paper race pace battle and could easily go all the way under Cornelio V.

The Plays:

$18 to win #2

$6 Exacta Box 2-5 ($12)

horse doing very well at Prx tend too look too good when nest at Belmont. Cost me many $$$$ to find that out.

Consider a long shot sleeper in this race...#3 Cactus City Road (20/1)...Has an outstanding record at todays distance with a hot trainer is coming back in 3 days from Prx, and is an improving horse...that is if the horse does not scratch out!

BEFORE scratches we agree, but the odds will be too small methinks. THE CONTENDERS: 2 Professor Fate 5 Shankopotamus 6 So Scott 1 Washington's Rules
