Super Ability ready to roll in Grey Memo

Saturday's 6th race (3:38pm PT) from Betfair Hollywood Park is the $70,000 Grey Memo Stakes for CA-bred or sired 3-year-olds and up traveling seven furlongs on Cushion Track.

#3 Super Ability (5-2) attended above par fractions and held nicely in his flat mile turf graduation run at Santa Anita April 7. The early-pressing type is training well for this and Gaines excels route-to-sprint. The lightly raced 5yo gelding is very good right now.

Play Saturday’s Betfair Hollywood Park games at DerbyWars.com.

#7 Indian Classic (15-1) rallied for the place in his local 5f bow last summer and earned a solid mark in his winning return across town March 1. Palma was fined $2k for failing to report that his charge was a first time gelding March 1 and he made a move before faltering in a troubled Echo Eddie effort last out. I like the rider switch to Espinoza and Palma excels dirt-to-synthetic. He can rebound 3rd off the shelf.

The Plays:

$18 to win #3

$5 Quinella 3-7

$1 Trifecta 3/ALL/7 ($7)

I liked the 3 here but wasn't feeling confident, I seen you had the 7 which scratched and felt the 6 looked good on paper so did an exacta. Thx Jarrod for showcasing the 3, was the best in the field no doubt.

This is a good betting race and I believe we'll get a nice price. Contenders that I see before scratches are: #5, 8, 2, and 3. The favorite #3 Super Ability (5/2) looks vulnerable due to being 3rd start off a layoff and contentious last races. The horse is dangerous though due to connections...Harris Farms/Carla Gaines. However, I will try to beat him with my horse #5 Derby Gold (9/2)...Baffert/Bejarano. Bet #5 to win. Exactas...5/all. Tri...5/8, 2, 3, 9/all. Good luck!!!
