Fury Kapcori on the upswing for Hollendorfer

Saturday's 3rd race (1:32pm PT) from Betfair Hollywood Park is the $100,000 Real Quiet Stakes for 2-year-olds traveling a mile and a sixteenth on Cushion Track. 

#3 Fury Kapcori (4-1) owns an ascending numbers pattern and Hollendorfer (3 wins) is off to a fast start at the current stand. He set legit fractions in his wire job 5.5f maiden breaker at Golden Gate second time out and relaxed nicely over a route of ground in a minor Stakes win at Fresno last time. The $100k Keeneland sales grad is out of 2-time BC Classic hero Tiznow, and dam sire Go For Gin captured the Kentucky Derby in 1994. He handles synthetic, owns early-pressing versatility, and should continue to progress with that aforementioned strong route pedigree. Talamo is a profitable route rider and he should offer a hint of value.

Morning line favorite #4 Carving (5-2) won his $80k Maiden Claiming 5f bow at Del Mar and beat subsequent Cal Cup Juvenile hero Monument in a $50k Stakes affair at Fairplex second time out. He tried to ride the speed bias in the G1 FrontRunner but was overmatched and gave way in the stretch. The Baffert trainee meets easier today but will take too much win action and is worth trying to beat.

Nice effort by Fury Kapcori at 9-2. Gave even money favorite Carving everything he could handle but just fell short. Eked out a small profit with the $5 place price.

Very difficult race...even for the gurus. There will probably be no long shots as the public usually spreads the money around in these difficult races. I agree with the above that "pace makes the race." However, that is sometimes difficult to evaluate. I like the #3 Fury Kapcori. However, would not be surprised to see an outsider win. Good luck with a difficult race!!!

You have tp look at a HORSE in reference to the pace pressure they will get in TODAY\s MATCH UP not some theoretical unrelated man made class structure as if it were so mark of how tough a contest was. Pace OF RACE tells you how tough it was. The HORSE and how it reacts to it,.,,That's just about the entire thing.

Horses don't function in a vacuum but that is how the regular assessors reckon when they evaluate.
