The purse agreement with Suffolk Downs has been signed we are confirmed to race the 6 day festival in July, August and September
Suddenbreakingnews. Even with Nyquist...but now his price will crash. :'(
Seeing some reports that some people said he looked very thin going into the Preakness. Hard to see on tv but if it's true I feel bad for the horse. Poor thing might have been sick and starting to feel under the weather then and still ran his guts out the best he could. Thank god exaggerator is a nice horse and won the Preakness so there isn't the same blow of missing out on a possible TC like the connections had to do with I'll have another in 2012. I hope this isn't similar to uncle mo's liver infection he got and that he is back this late summer for some of the big races. I also hope he takes on chrome and beholder this year. He's a special horse and one 3rd place loss takes nothing away from his incredible courage and heart.
The moment he made his move in his great sprint to pass Nyquist in the Kentucky Derby I pointed to the screen and shouted to my father "Look! (as if he was looking somewhere else) If he moved one second earlier he would have passed him!" Forever Exaggerator should be known as the horse that should have won the Kentucky Derby. I wanna say the Triple, but we are not there yet. I think he has it in him to do it. I hope he turns out to be a better horse than Nyquist and I hope this great team of French brothers are not using Lasix. Keep this guy healthy and do the right thing. Secretariat never used it and look what he did. It was so refreshing to see a trainer and jockey of French descent win at the Preakness again. (As you might have guessed, I am of French descent too!)
A clip of the Racing Post talking with Coolmore's UK representative, Kevin Buckley, about the upcoming G1 Investec Derby at Espom. According to Buckley in this clip, likely Coolmore starters at Epsom are: US Army Ranger, Port Douglas, Deauville, & Idaho. The Gurkha, who was a recent very impressive winner of French 2000 Guineas at Deauville, is said by Buckley to now being pointed at Royal-Ascot for the G1 St James's Palace Stakes instead of to the Derby at Epsom.
A second score in as many days for Japanese based horses in France, as A Shin Erwin follows up on A Shin Hikari's impressive G1 Prix d'Ispahan victory yesterday at Chantilly with a win of his own in the listed Prix de Montretout at Maisons-Laffitte. He's also being pointed toward Royal-Ascot with an entry in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes on opening day of the royal meeting.
she has been training tremendous and expect a race for her coming up soon A few more works then hopefully she'll have a special year
Lyndi has been training tremendous and expect a race for her coming up soon A few more works and they shes ready
Cotton Letters had a tough race with a lot of speed Jay might try her long and mix it up some
is working and tightening up every day I expect a good race off his layoff soon
Had a solid workout the other day and is race ready to make her debut for 2016
Stradivari is the perfect example of a horse that can run fast against allowance company but when moved up in class can't replicate that same performance. So many horses follow this pattern.

  • tony via Disqus · I disagree. Nyquist was 8 for 8. 5 grade one wins and the benchmark for all 3 y.o. Stradivari finished half length behind him and half length out of second in the grade 1 Preakness. I'd say he ran a great race. I love johnny v but his ride and the post also did strad no favors. · 2 days ago
  • Pat Guy via Disqus · Foolish...he's second or third with a better post. He'll jog around Belmont and win easily. · 3 hours ago
After yesterday race, we may be looking at the #1 ranked horse in the world by Longines.
I'm curious, I've noticed that with both Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta's kids, they aren't debuting until late in they're two or three year old campaigns. Cozmic one hasn't even raced yet. What is taking so long to prepare these horses?
Too bad Nyquist is not Running in the Belmont Stakes this year. :(
From this morning's Racing Post.com web-site: Classic winners Galileo Gold, The Gurkha, Awtaad, Minding, and Jet Setting, along with US star Tepin, Meydan G1 winner Tryster, and G1 Lockinge Stakes winner Belardo are among 50 horses pre-entered for this year's G1 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood in late July.
Connections should really consider putting Gun Runner in the Belmont, there's no Nyquist to worry about now, and where is the pace in the race?? Gun Runner could lead, and set fast but sensible fractions, he could dominate and steal the race from the front!!! There's a very big prize on offer, and Gun Runner could take the winners share, IF he can hold off Exaggerator in the stretch (which is doubtful, but not impossible). :-)
  • RaptorFeather · but remember i think Gun Runner is a faster pace horse compare to Exaggerator which hangs back very far. Then also just hoping it's not a wet track becasue Exaggerator runs well on a wet tracks. and i don't know how well Gun Runner runs on wet tracks. · 6 hours ago
If it's raining put your money on Exaggerator, (note to self). For the rest, good luck.
Anita is one of the most beautiful race tracks I have ever been to and WAS my long time favorite track until the racing surfaces fiascoes and the loss of so many east west rivalries. The BREEDER' CUP people are wholly distinct and separate from Anita. They "rent" a track and call all the shots no differently if the place was a room in a motel.
  • amino998 · http://www.breederscup.com/tickets/silks-lawn-chalet be082 was right about 1 thing… this catering to/gouging the few and the devil take the hindmost (infield goers) attitude sucks. · 6 hours ago
Let's be realistic. Her debut is going to depend on her trainer and her maturity level. The catch with being Pharoah's sister is that there's so much hype. The trainer ( I would assume Bob, but you never know) will debut her when she's ready. Just be patient.
