WE take, on average, 5000-7000 steps per day and WHEN WALKING, exert anywherer from 1 to about 3 times our body weight in force (varied by cadance, stride lenght and weight we carry) and all of those add up. Imagine what that collective force does to any already uneven, scarred and thinned superficial cartialge? travel_vic · Imagine the stresses (usually shown in x-rays as osteopathic LIPPING along a joint's edge and limiting its range of motio) that USED to be overcome at the extremes of motion, NOW limited by this lipping which is pathologically part of the osteoarthritis diagnosis........Slam that joint up against that limited lipping and guess what happens to the tissues? TRACTION when you have a joint INCREASING in size within a self limited joint capsule. Traction on the nerves give the patient considerable pain...it varies a lot however since clinical signs do not directly correlate to the degree of symptoms, BUT I would want a rider NOT to be distracted by that annoying pain...Brave guy to try it but the odds are LONG aganist him. · 127 days ago ·
