medlocke · I sure wish Gio Ponti all the luck in the world going after his third straight Man O' War Stakes. I just hope he get's a sensible ride by Ramon Dominguez in the race. Because I feel that Aidan O'Brien wouldn't be sending Cape Blanco all the way over from Ireland unless he felt the horse was working well enough to win this race? Cape Blanco's a legitimate G1 horses himself, for sure. He's beaten Workforce in the G2 Dante Stakes at York. Midas Touch and Jan Vermeer in the G1 Irish Derby at the Curragh. And Rip Van Winkle and Twice Over in the G1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown. Cape Blanco also finished 2nd to Harbinger in last year's G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal-Ascot. I think Gio Ponti has the edge in this race, because of all the G1 success he's had in the past at Belmont. But I think Cape Blanco may be the best horse he's faced on the turf over 10f for a long, long time. JMO. · 327 days ago ·
