icyhotboo · Mary, I don't feel Alpha is beatable especially with the nice job Domingues does calming him down in the gate. I like the #1,#3,#6 next. If I can get any two of these in order be nice to hit the tri 100 times and take a shot at the super 30/50 times.I would appreciate your input but after watching these horses race he (Alpha) really lays over this field.I tossed the #2, #4, #5 from the exotics.I'll look for your response. · 472 days ago ·

Mary Z. · icy, I don't think Alpha is all that fast, so for that reason and his gate antics which may or may not be over, I picked Hakama, who has had two good wins in races over a mile, one over the inner track at Aqueduct. Hakama trains at Fair Hill, which I have found to be a positive. Then the fav, Alpha next, and finally, Tiger Walk--seems to like the switch to dirt. Your #3 was scratched, but I left him out due to his last race with the second and third fractions belonging to him as he was on the lead. · 472 days ago ·

arazi · Am I the only one that is neither amused or interested in the "Million Dollar Meet"? It seems pointless in so many ways. 1) Cutting back to 3 days a week is not great for fans or anyone in the business. 2) Overpaying for races makes no sense. The business will grow, but not that much, and it will prove to the state that racing does not deserve all this casino money. 3) Since it's only temporary, why negatively impact the other nearby tracks, like Saratoga? Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see less racing and higher quality. I'd love to see Monmouth run Fri/Sat/Sun and Calder run Tues/Wed/Thurs all with good quality and full fields. That would be an improvement and we'd get quality races 6 days a week. But I don't see that happening any time soon. · 1099 days ago ·

paceman · If the creates full fields of decent quality horses, that has to be good for horse players though it doesn't seem sustainable by any means. Would rather see even four days of racing a week and Million Dollar Saturdays. Arlington Park tried something like this several years ago and ended up with fewer days of racing and really small fields by the end of the meet. · 1098 days ago ·

The only tracks to bet today before 4pm ET were Belmont and Delaware, and it was wet and off the turf in NY. I don't need another track to bet on Saturday when there are 15 tracks running. But to have only two daytime East Coast tracks on Wednesday, that's bad for racing. If Wednesday is going to be a "non-racing day" just like Mon and Tues... that is not good for racing. · 1098 days ago ·
