stevestylesclark · I appreciate the list and really look forward to seeing all of these horse in 2013, but why does everyone seem to downplay how great Wise Dan?!? Animal Kingdom closed well in the BC Mile but Wise Dan already had eased the gas well before AK could make any move. He did not 'nearly' win the BC mile, cause if he had worried Johnny V or Wise Dan at all, Wise Dan would of set the world record for the mile easily. All of the accomplishments you say AK could do, Wise Dan coulld do as well and without the worry of being injured in the process. I seem to remember AK not being able to track down a overmatched Shackleford in the preakness, and no way Wise Dan would let him by. I would flip flop Wise Dan and AK for sure. I also think MMM is set to break through and finally break through in 2013. Don'r forget about Successful Dan either, if he is in the mix come BC Classic, he might be the horse to beat!!! · 194 days ago ·

stevestylesclark · Just one other mention as well, I know it is nice to think Executiveprivilege is going to be a star, but putting her ahead of the Filly Sprint star Groupie Doll is crazy! Groupie Doll just ran the mile versus the boys and got head bobbed by a horse who almost won the JGC and had rested for the race. Groupie Doll could win the Dirt Mile or Sprint next BC against the boys possibly, and executiveprivilege just got beat by another CA 2YO who might be better then her already! · 194 days ago ·

footlick · you can't compare an older horse (Wise Dan) to a 3 yr old Animal Kingdom in the Preakness. How would the 3 yr old Wise Dan have done in the Preakness of his year? YOu have to be fair in your comparisons. Wise Dan is a wonderful animal, but you cannot compare an older gelding's performance to a lightly raced 3 yr olds performance. · 194 days ago ·

Mike in SB · I think the two horses with the best chance to improve next year are Animal Kingdom and Fort Larned. Wise Dan will probably be the 2012 Horse of the Year but I believe we have seen him at his best. Both Animal Kingdom and Fort Larned could really move up and dominate 2013. Of the two I am a little worried that Animal Kingdom might have soundness issues while Fort Larned reminds me a little of Cigar, a horse that really developed and got stronger with age. I expect Fort Larned to have a great 2013. · 194 days ago ·
