iluvturfracing · After Cirrus Des Aigles romp by 9 lengths in Saturday's G2 Prix Dollar, a potential Frankel-Cirrus Des Aigles match-up in the G1 Champion Stakes later this month now sounds more intriguing than ever. That said, I still believe it will take a combination of a different tactical ride by Peslier and the race really just falling apart for Frankel for anyone else in the Champion Stakes field to be running for more than 2nd place $. ILuvTurfRacing · It was never a certainty that CDA was going to run in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at the royal meeting anyway based on what his connections had said recently. They said CDA will run in the G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at 12f in July for sure. But in the meantime, either the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at 10f or the G1 Grand Prix De Saint-Cloud at 12f is where CDA would run in the meantime. They've obviously opted for the 12f race at Saint-Cloud. Which, IMO, if they're looking to run in the King George next month is the better option. CDA was a very unlucky loser of the Grand Prix De Saint-Cloud a year ago when Sarafina nailed him by a nose right on the wire. · 338 days ago ·

ILuvTurfRacing · @yukichan, I agree. With CDA out of the POW, I think it definitely makes SYT the horse to beat now. Planteur didn't run particularly well in the race a year ago, and Reliable Man hasn't run particularly well in either of his 2012 starts. My own personal opinion is that the POW will end up being a battle between SYT and Carlton House, who was a very impressive winner of the G3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown last month on his seasonal reappearance. · 338 days ago ·

ILuvTurfRacing · Cirrus Des Aiigles just didn't win the G1 Prix Ganay. He left a very classy filly that was previously unbeaten in stakes company in Giofra absolutely for dead by some 8 lengths. This horse just keeps getting better and better with age!! I've always thought it was too bad that CDA is gelded, because he'd be a force to be reckoned with if he was eligible to run in the Arc, IMO. · 388 days ago ·
