He's back today in Race 7 at Belmont after some much needed time off. In his 11 career starts he raced in 8 stakes race and he is finally back on turf where he belongs.

Hey y'all. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this horse, and ask for y'all opinion. I found his run very intriguing. First off. His first race off a long layoff, he finished 2nd to Majestic Hussar (who just came in 4th in the FOY, setting a blistering pace), well clear of third place finisher. His fourth place finish only compliments Palace Malice, b/c Hussar ran a credible race. This was Palace Malice's first graded stakes try. He came in third, only beaten by about a length (I think). The whole stretch he lugged his head, not too badly, but a little. He got bumped, he drifted. His stretch run was the classic "inexperienced talented horse" much like Goldencents. This isn't a shocker, considering this was only his fourth career start. He showed ability to drop a little further back, rather than 1-2 lengths off the lead. I love his inexperienced, yet long stride. This baby looks like as he matures he might get real good. He only has one more prep to mature until the KY Derby, but still, even if he can't mature in time, he really is a good looking horse for the future. Trust me on this one, there is fire hidden in his young, small body, and there is a great kick hidden in his long stride. It might take him a while to finish the puzzle, and he is still putting pieces together, but when he does, WATCH OUT!

His jockey told him to go to early, the pace was handed to him, FAST. the jock should have waited longer. Him, also, is good looking, to be an OK-GOOD horse, not great, but Solid.

i for one have been very critical of the racing higher ups and how they are taking the game down.the following is not directed at them.they have done all that can be asked.they have carded a Grade 1 race for 3yo fillies.they are offering a 300k dollar purse.it is being run at arguably the #1 racing venue and most buetiful tracks.i am talking about NYs' Belmont Park.The race is this saturdays' Mother Goose.This is my pleas to the stakes grading department to remove the G1 rating from this race.No not because of its' stature ,history and any other reason 1 can come up with.It is to punish the owners and trainers who own ,have owned and will own top class 3 yo fillies. they are taking advantage and abusing this great historical race.now to my point.i looked at the past performances for saturdays race . 5 FILLIES entered. I went back to last years race 6 FILLIES entered.i went back to 2011 ,5 FILLIES entered, i went back to 2010 , 5 FILLIES entered . iwent back to 2009 3 FILLIES entered. if the owners no longer find this race as appealing,that is not a problem.Just do not reward them with a G1 rating.i thought just prior to this years oaks,this was arguably 1 of the deepest 3 yo divisions in many a year. now they need to scrape up a filly who just broke her maiden to make a fifth starter.the problem is that there are to many races run at various tracks.great time to be an owner,you get to pick and choose what 4 horse field you want to run against.by a show of hands,please tell me how many of you own good 3 yo fillies.i thought so.my suggestion to the racing heads.remove these inflated purses from these overhyped races.redistribute the purses into the allowance and claiming game.their owners are in need of it more than the ones who pass up the opporttunity to run in historical races.they are the ones who help put on the product 95% of the year.maybe it is time to rewrd the real horsemenannd not the counterfeits.

I know many of the posters are not N.Y. residents. I do not know if you heard the announcement made today by NYRA regarding their newly named president.his name is christopher kay.he was supposedly chosen from a long list of 100 candidates.in an age and time where the racing game is in serious trouble(if not for racinos,more tracks would be closed)mr. kay was selected as the right man to lead NYRA. his past experirnce is that he is an attorney and was ceo of toys r us. he has absolutely no proffesional experience in the horse racing game.the reason i am making you aware of this.this is how serious our so called leaders are taking this game.apparently knowledge of the game is irrelevant.mr. kay may be a brilliant buisiness man.but how can he be expected to make responsible decisions regarding the game.i assume he will be listening to his advisors.the same guys that helped take down the game.NYRA is arguably the most important racing venue in the united states.if they cannot take this game seriously,what can it say for others.one last thing.i know that the racing game would love to change their demographics and attract the younger generation.but seriously guys,toys r us.almost like robbing the cradle.
